Mountain Lodge

Knotty Distressed Alder Cabinets
Photo: Roger Wade

"This was a brand new home built in the rugged mountain lodge style that's popular up here. The ceiling features false box beams made from rustic recycled knotty alder and an arch of Montana moss rock.

"The cabinets are also made of knotty distressed alder, with a multistep glazed finish that has a dark honey base and a brown glaze residue that's wiped off. The cabinet doors and drawers are over 1 inch thick, which creates a bolder look and feel. With all the rocks, heavy doors, and turnposts, the key word is massive."
