The old kitchen featured a Frankensteinian design that crossed traditional country design with ’90s contemporary elements. White country cabinets clashed with metallic tile backsplashes and the counters’ black glossy finishes. To carry this kitchen into the 21st century, the designer planned to bring new colors to the room. Eliminating the room’s clunky island and its ceiling counterpart was also important to create a more streamlined, Asian-inspired look. See next slide.
