Removing the peninsula and a portion of the wall between the kitchen and living room made room for a bigger, multifunctional island. The 10-foot island’s two levels allow ample counter space for food prep and cooking on the gas rangetop below and casual dining at the bartop. The island’s tile backsplash, set at an angle, provides more visual interest. Meanwhile, a lit display cabinet provides stylish storage with a built-in wine rack. See next slide.
