The Woolf family’s old kitchen cramped the family into a confined space with limited appliances. The U-shaped kitchen only allowed one cook in the kitchen at a time while an electric cooktop made surface cooking unreliable. The single oven was only 24 inches wide, keeping some roasting pans from fitting inside.
