The ethereal hues of the sky emerge as an environmental statement for 2008. Blues used this year range from light atmospheric shades that suggest icy winds to deep purplish-blues reminiscent of rumbling thunderclouds. Blues show up outside baths and bedrooms this year, gracing kitchens in all areas of décor. Along with its nod to environmentalism, blue also adds a sense of spiritual and meditative reflection to a room.
