“French country is what we call rustique,” says Jeanne-Aelia Desparmet-Hart of JADHny Interior Design. “It’s usually very simple.” To channel those pastoral colors, Desparmet-Hart was inspired by the fields of southern France in July. This kitchen palette makes use of a warm cream as a large swath of kitchen wall color while a cheery yellow-green evokes the sun shining through Provencal fields and gray cabinets suggest their shadows. An optional splash of burgundy on the kitchen island (see 4-color scheme) gives the room a bold focal point.
