Design Notes: Located in a high-rise, this kitchen gets its farmhouse feel from the use of metal, stone and wood. The homeowner chose an onyx countertop lit from below for the L-shaped island's bar top; it also has granite and wood counter surfaces. Red and green stained cherry cabinets with pewter chicken wire inserts complement the paneled built-in refrigerator and freezer, designed to look like an antique oak ice box.
