Coastal
Colonial Kitchen

“Raised panel doors and heavier crown molding at the ceiling
define this kitchen as Colonial. However, the cabinets’ Oyster
Bay finish gives them a driftwood color for a coastal feel. The
crown moldings, done in Harbor Mist, further emphasize a
coastal, beach house palette. Two different sizes of molding
top the cabinets. The larger 4” upper cabinet molding is
repeated at the ceiling, with dentil and decorative moulding
below it for a weightier effect.

"The grain of the Rosetta Corian
countertops plays on the molding, as does the grayish-taupe
ceramic tile floor. Brushed pewter knobs and pulls and the bead
board backsplash reinforce the Colonial style. Seaside hues
create a room fairly neutral in color, with the exception of the
stained glass window. Colonial formalism is softened through the
use of curved cabinets, making for an inviting, casual
atmosphere with formal elements.”
