For designer Rick Caccavello, a kitchen is a place to entertain as well as to cook and eat. With an awkward layout and plain Jane design, Caccavello’s old kitchen jammed guests together at the entrance, forced family baking projects to take place on their dining room table, and lacked personality. His new kitchen comfortably holds more than 60 people and boasts a medieval English castle theme that matches the rest of the home’s Old World style.
