“For this project, the owner wished to maintain the authenticity of her older home and architectural details. This was done with the use of Brookhaven’s Andover recessed square door style in white. White seems to expand the small kitchen/breakfast area. The black granite countertops help combine the separate cabinet areas into a casual and comfortable yet sophisticated environment perfect for everyday living.
"With the use of Brookhaven’s Cinnabar (red) color on the island, we were able to keep the overall focus on the island’s cooking, dining and entertainment purposes. The buffet piece also has that same red on cherry wood, which helped to differentiate and highlight the two areas. Red makes for a great accent color; using it too much can be overwhelming.”
